einfach:komplex – international conference

Impetus for the sustainable transfer of study results in the literacy practice

 

 

The international conference “einfach:complex” took place on 12th  of december 2013 in the education center  (BIZ) of the chamber of labor in Vienna.

 

On this occasion, national and international experts addressed the question which actual utility can be brought by studies for basic education for concerned people and how a transfer of study results in the literacy practice could be succeed without radical simplification.

 

Alexandra Hofer, MA participated in this conference and presented in this context the first results of the project Standpunkt Bildung. Additionally Mag.a Petra Wlasak, MA contributed  as an expert for the conference film  „Einfach: komplex“

 

The conference was organized as part of the International Literacy Day 2013 by: German Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture, Chamber of Labour  of Vienna, chamber of Labour of Lower Austria.

IMISCOE 10th Annual Conference: Crisis and Migration – Perceptions, Challenges and Consequences

 

The annual conference of Research Networks IMISCOE (International Migration, Integration, and Social Cohesion) took place from the 25th to the 27th of August 2013 at the university of Malmö.

 

The conference highlights the impact of the economic crisis on European migration patterns. There was a discussion with european experts in several lectures and workshops about theoretical and empirical questions to socio-economic and socio-political impacts of the crisis, sources for migration and migration movement.

 

Mag.a Dr.in Doris Kapeller and Mag.a Petra Wlasak, MA participated in this conference and presented in this context various workshops, new results of research concerning current project like „MIQUAM: Untapped resources – profit for the others: phenomena of underclass and de-qualification of female migrants in Styria“ and „EmMi

: empowerment of migrant women to improve mental health & promotion of cultural sensitivity of providers of health-promoting and psycho-social services. Survey of needs of migrant women concerning their mental-social health

International Conference on Gender and Migration in Istanbul

 

The “International Conference on Gender and Migration: Criticial Issues and Policy Implications“took place from the 11th to the 13th of may 2013 at the Marmara University in Istanbul. The conference highlights different impacts of migration on the living conditions of men and women under consideration of the different motives for migration and combinations of different social factors.

Hence it was clear that the combination of theory, policies and practices within the global political agenda is needed to promote gender equality in the context of global migration.

Numerous international experts provided insight in current research work and utilized die possibility for expertexchange and networkcreation.

 

Mag.a Dr.in Doris Kapeller und Mag.a Petra Wlasak, MA nahmen an der Konferenz teil und Mag.a Petra Wlasak, MA präsentierte das Forschungsprojekt „Flight as a chance? Changing gender roles of Chechen single mothers in Graz who are officially recognized refugees”.
